BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced that 43-year-old Charles Derrick Bronson was convicted of one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography), a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Bronson was sentenced on March 11, 2025, by Ada County District Judge Nancy Baskin.
In July 2024, an undercover law enforcement officer in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit began receiving downloads of thousands of files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from an IP address associated with Bronson’s residence in Ada County.
Around the same time, a CyberTip was received indicating an online account belonging to Bronson contained CSAM files. After obtaining search warrants, officers searched Bronson’s home and devices, locating hundreds of files containing CSAM on Bronson’s computer.
Many of these files depicted minor females ranging from approximately infant age to 14 years old engaged in sex acts with adult men.
Judge Baskin sentenced Bronson to ten years and imposed the sentence. Bronson will be eligible for parole after two years. Upon release, Bronson will have to register as a sex offender under Idaho law.
