A Feel Good Friday surprise for a woman who goes above and beyond at the Snake River Animal Shelter

EastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.

Today we are visiting the Snake River Animal Shelter to honor an incredible woman named Candice. Here’s what we learned about her:

Candice has been with the shelter over nine years and no matter how big the challenge, she’s up for it. Recently, the shelter found out about another nonprofit rescue in the Boise area who asked that the Snake River Animal Shelter take in 26 cats.

As you can imagine, it was total chaos vaccinating, examining, and microchipping 26 cats but she stayed calm and collected. Shortly after that, the shelter found out that an elderly Bonneville County resident was struggling with her health and had over 30 cats in her home. Working with law enforcement, they asked the shelter to start taking in as many as we can. Even though space was tight, Candice shifted and strategized to get 10 of the women’s cats in on the same day and all the while, stayed positive and was simply grateful to be in a position to help. She’s the first employee to arrive every day, is never late and is a team player no matter the circumstance.

We decided to surprise Candice for Feel Good Friday and thank her for everything she’s done. Watch in the video player above!
