CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift finally visited the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s hometown and made a stop for lunch at JoJo’s Bar.
Michael Dei Maggi, the corporate chef and culinary director for NCR Ventures, which owns JoJo’s, confirmed to cleveland.com that the A-list couple dined in with a third guest on Tuesday.
“We were lucky enough to have a special visitor today at JoJo’s,” Dei Maggi said. “It’s a huge deal for us. We try to approach every single guest visit as if they’re super VIP.”
Originally, the couple was interested in 17 River Grille, another NCR restaurant in Chagrin Falls, but JoJo’s, 87 West Street, was better able to accommodate privacy requirements.
“We have the ability to create some really cool, sequestered spaces and high-security private spaces for those very rare occasions that you have rock and roll and football royalty in the restaurant,” Dei Maggi added.
Dei Maggi personally has experience serving celebrities and VIP guests when he previously worked on the West Coast. Plus, the crew at JoJo’s is used to serving a wide variety of customers, including VIP guests.
“I’m pretty comfortable with it and at the end of the day, it’s really special to be able to create a place where they can kind of get lost in the magic of Chagrin Falls a little bit too,” he said. “That should be accessible to everybody, even those that require a little additional privacy.”
Kelce was in town on Monday for the Alex’s Way Charity Golf Tournament presented by Patrick Bacon and Forest City Insurance, according to the Kelce Brothers Instagram page.
Swift’s visit to Cleveland had been long-awaited, since Kelce is a proud Cleveland Heights native. There was speculation she’d visit Cleveland last year when the Chiefs played the Browns, but she didn’t appear.
Dei Maggi said he believed the couple had a “wonderful experience” and that JoJo’s looks forward to future visits.
“When you’re dining at the best restaurants that the world has to offer, it’s cool to think that Chagrin Falls can accommodate and hopefully, compete at a similar level or provide a great level of hometown hospitality,” he said.
