2025 College World Series final score: Live updates of Game 1 as LSU, Coastal Carolina battle in Omaha

LSU and Coastal Carolina are two wins away from the national championship. One team will be a step closer after Saturday’s first game of the College World Series finals, which pits the No. 6-seed Tigers and No. 13-seed Chanticleers against each other in what could be a pitcher’s duel.

Southpaw Kade Anderson (11-1, 3.44) from LSU toes the rubber against Coastal Carolina righty Cameron Flukey (8-1, 3.29) as they battle for a key first win in the best-of-three series. Those arms helped their squads stay perfect in Omaha en route to this weekend’s title series with 3-0 runs through their respective double-elimination brackets. The Chanticleers’ victories extended their winning streak to 26 consecutive games, dating back to April 22.

National championship No. 8 is on the line for LSU, which would become the only program with four titles this century if it reigns supreme. Jay Johnson already led the Tigers to the mountaintop and could make it two titles in three years after he guided the 2023 squad to the CWS crown. Coastal Carolina is in search of its second championship and first under coach Kevin Schnall, who is in his debut season at the helm.
