IDAHO FALLS – Tagg-N-Go Car Wash is the new owner of Rubber Ducky Car Wash.
The acquisition took place on Monday, according to Rubber Ducky founder Matt Cardon.
Cardon tells EastIdahoNews.com the sale of his car wash has been an ongoing conversation since 2023. He felt the timing was right to finally make it happen.
“I think they’re a great group of guys and are going to bring a new energy and some fun changes to the market. I’m optimistic for the future,” Cardon says.
There are four Rubber Ducky Car Wash locations. Three of them are in Idaho Falls and a fourth one is on Yellowstone Highway in Pocatello. Tagg-N-Go took over operations of all four locations.

Tagg-N-Go recently acquired Snake River Car Wash in Idaho Falls as well, along with a Rigby and Rexburg location last year. As of Monday, there are now 10 Tagg-N-Go locations throughout eastern Idaho.
The company is looking forward to serving thousands of new customers with enhanced wash experiences, upgraded equipment and quality service. A news release about the sale says some locations will temporarily close in the coming weeks for remodeling and improvements. New vacuums and technology will be installed to provide a “smoother guest experience.”
Free car washes will be offered at participating locations to celebrate the transition.
Cardon says it was Tagg-N-Go, which has locations throughout Idaho, Utah and Nevada, that initially reached out to him about buying the car wash. The company has not responded to multiple calls, but Tagg-N-Go co-founder Quinn Allgood says in an April 24 news release it’s “an exciting milestone to grow our footprint further in Idaho.”
“We’re honored to serve these new communities and deliver the same people-first experience our guests have come to love,” Allgood says.
Allgood launched Tagg-N-Go with Conner Atkin in 2016. It originated in St. George, Utah. The company is proud to partner with the Utah Jazz and operate the only fully indoor car wash facility in the Western United States.
Atkin’s ties to Idaho is one reason why he wanted to expand the brand in the Gem State.
“I’m a cowboy. I used to do rodeo in Idaho,” Atkin writes in an email to EastIdahoNews.com. “The way of life — hardworking, down-to-earth and community-driven — has always felt like home to me.”
Cardon is a lifelong auto enthusiast and has fond memories of building a car with his buddy in college. He opened his first car wash in 1997 when he realized what a lucrative business it was.

He launched Car Wash Express on Northgate Mile in 2014. It later grew to have four locations, including its newest building on Broadway in 2021. The company rebranded under the name Rubber Ducky Car Wash in 2023.
Monthly memberships are now available at Tagg-N-Go, which gives customers an unlimited car wash pass. Tagg-N-Go invites all former Rubber Ducky and Snake River customers — as well as new guests — to stop by any of its 10 locations and experience its unique approach to serving patrons.
“There is a ton of value being added for our Unlimited Pass holders in Idaho. Not only can they wash as often as they would like, but they now have access to 10 locations in Southeast Idaho, as well as our other 20 locations in Utah and Nevada,” Tagg-N-Go’s senior director of marketing Mitch Kunzler says.
