Idaho Falls Farmers Market kicks off on Saturday with larger space and more vendors

IDAHO FALLS — The popular Idaho Falls Farmers Market is back for another vibrant season, officially kicking off Saturday, May 3, at its usual location on 600 Memorial Drive. The market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 25, featuring local flavor, artisans, entertainment, and a positive community vibe.

This year, the market is bigger and more community-focused than ever, with 173 vendors—up from 141 last season—expanding the space to six blocks. According to Clark Poston, the market manager, the event draws about 8,000 to 9,000 visitors, with some weeks as high as 12,000.

“Our theme this year is ‘Bringing Unity to the Community,’” said Poston. “We want the farmers market to be a place of togetherness and positivity where friends and family want to linger and have a good time.”

Opening day will feature live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with performances by local musicians Kaylee Lee and Keagan Park.

The market accepts SNAP and EBT benefits, and Clark encourages those who use these services to stop by the information booth for guidance.

“Our goal is to bring fresh and healthy foods to everyone’s table,” he said.

Poston also credited the Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department for their essential support. “They’ve been incredible about helping us clean and prepare the roads weekly. Their work behind the scenes makes this market possible.”

Looking ahead, the market has more in store for the season. A special farmers market night at the Idaho Falls Chukars baseball game is scheduled for May 30, and plans are underway to launch another indoor winter market for the colder months.
