John Anthony Rushin Jr. “Tony” born April 5, 1947, in Thermopolis, WY, passed away on April 17, 2025, in Idaho Falls ID, leaving behind a legacy for being an only child.
Born to John Anthony Rushin and Elanor Jean Rush he grew up in Idaho Falls, ID, graduating from Idaho Falls High school, and attended college at ISU. He joined the United States Army Reserve in 1967 and served our country for six years. He left with Honorable Discharge in 1973.
In 1969 John “Tony” met the love of his life Delpha Clarke. They married on January 7, 1970, in Jackson Hole, WY. Five years later their daughter Uraisa Ann Rushin was born and then three years later they welcomed a son Michael Anthony Rushin.
John “Tony” worked for INEEL for 43 years. In addition, he was a member of the “Motorcycle off-road Association” for a number of years. During this time, he took his family on a lifetime of adventures riding motorcycles and ATV’s, camping, hunting, fishing, target shooting, archery, and mountain bike riding. In the winter he had a great love for skiing and snowmobiling. Later on in life he enjoyed tractor restoration with his close friend and vintage car restoration. His life was full of adventures. Tony; son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and life long friend will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Delpha Rushin, of Idaho Falls, ID, Daughter Uraisa (George) Mann, of Idaho Falls, ID, son Michael (Mandy) Rushin, of Idaho Falls, ID. 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd Rush and Anna Pearl (Ready) Rush, of Hot Springs, WY, parents John Anthony Rushin and Eleanor Jean (Rush) Rushin, of Thermopolis, WY.
A celebration of life will be held at Eckersell Funeral Home 101 West Main Street in Rigby, Idaho on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
