Idaho Falls to Sacramento State in Big Sky Semifinals


MOSCOW, Idaho — On the second day of the Big Sky Conference Championships, the University of Idaho women’s tennis team was defeated by Sacramento State with a final score of 0-4.

In doubles play, the Vandals’ top pair, Naomi Schraeder and Valentina Rodas, delivered a strong performance, winning their match 6–2. However, Sacramento State secured victories in the other two doubles matches, earning the doubles point.

During singles competition, Sacramento State’s players secured straight-set victories which unfortunately led to the Hornets clinching the overall win. Despite the loss, the Vandals demonstrated resilience throughout the season, with standout performances from players like Schraeder, who had a team-leading 13 singles wins and an undefeated record in conference play during the regular season.

The University of Idaho women’s tennis team concluded the 2024–25 season with a strong overall record of 15–6. Highlighting their campaign was a remarkable nine-match winning streak—their longest since the 2018-19 season—which showcased the team’s growth and competitive spirit. With this momentum, the Vandals are poised to build on their success and continue developing in the seasons ahead.
