IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a recent news release, the Bonneville Prosecuting Attorney determined a Bonneville deputyinvolved in an Idaho Falls shooting will not have criminal charges filed against him.
Deputies from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office initiated a stop on Joshua Alvarado Ramirez on Woodruff Street in Idaho Falls on Sept. 1, 2024. The release says Deputy Zachery Skidmore fired his gun during this encounter, hitting Ramirez multiple times. Ramirez then died from his wounds.
The Eastern Idaho Critical Incident Task Force completed a thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
After Prosecutor Neal reviewed the scene, all available video evidence, interviews of law enforcement, family members, other witnesses, toxicology, medical reports and all other evidence collected by the task force, he completed a complex legal review of the incident, determining no criminal charges will be filed against Deputy Skidmore.
