Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is happy to be in the semi-finals of the Champions League but admits the tie with Dortmund could have slipped away from his side.
Hansi Flick’s side went through 5-3 on aggregate after losing the return leg 3-1 in Germany on Tuesday night on a tough night for the Catalans.
It’s Barca’s first defeat of 2025 and Araujo admits it could have been worse.
“I’m happy to be in the semifinals after a long time. This club deserves it. There are things we need to fix, but we’re in the semifinals. I’m happy because at other times this game would have slipped away from us,” he told the media.
“The Champions League is like that, it’s very difficult. That’s why we haven’t been in the semifinals for a while.
“I personally had never played in the semifinals, so I’m happy because we’re doing well. We won, which is what matters.”
Barca go on to play Bayern or Inter in the last four and will discover their opponents tomorrow night. Inter lead 2-1 going into the second leg of their tie.
