IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (CBS2) — An Idaho Falls man who was paralyzed in a skiing accident in Switzerland is finally returning home after being stranded without treatment.
Justin Holman suffered a catastrophic accident that shattered one of his vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
According to a GoFundMe page launched by his brother, Stetson Holman, Justin underwent emergency neck fusion surgery, but his insurer, United Healthcare, refused to cover the hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills, leaving him without rehabilitation treatment for weeks.
The insurer also denied medical transport back to the United States for specialized treatment. Thanks to donors who raised over $65,000, Justin will head home this Wednesday.
Justin still faces a long road to recovery. Click HERE if you are interested in donating.
