Two Idaho Detectives are receiving special recognition for their work with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
An awards ceremony took place Wednesday morning to honor the detectives for their combined 100th ICAC arrest in Idaho.
ICAC’s task force plays a crucial role in arresting and prosecuting individuals who use the internet and other forms of technology to harm Idaho Children.
Detective Jared Mendenhall of the Idaho Falls Police Department and Detective Korey Payne of the Bonneville County Sheriffs office were the recipients of the award.
Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador shared some advice to parents to help protect their children from online predators.
“These are safe communities and people sometimes forget that in the shadows, bad things are happening. And, you know, that’s why I always when I talk to parents, I tell them, be really aware of what your children are looking at online.”
