The pressure is on as No. 10 Texas heads to No. 5 Georgia for a rematch of last season’s SEC Championship Game. The Longhorns can ill-afford a loss if they wish to stay in control of their postseason destiny, but keeping up with Georgia’s surging offense will be tough. The Bulldogs have been nearly unstoppable in two of their past three games, which included an all-around beatdown of Mississippi State last week.
Texas’ hopes hinge largely on the play of redshirt sophomore quarterback Arch Manning. The former No. 1 overall prospect has played some of his best football in the Longhorns’ past two games. However, he’s done most of his damage on quick-hit throws behind or near the line of scrimmage. If Texas is going to take down Georgia, chances are the Longhorns will need some pop from their vertical passing game. Georgia won both meetings last season and now gets a chance to welcome Texas into Sanford Stadium for the first time in series history. Can Texas get revenge and make a national statement?
