Benson Boone Cancels Birmingham Show Hour Before Concert

Benson Boone canceled his show at the Utilita Arena Birmingham in England an hour before his concert due to vocal issues and illness.

In a since-expired Instagram Story, the Grammy-nominated pop artist apologized to his audience and said he is working on rescheduling the tour date as soon as possible.

“Birmingham I am so so sorry but I will not be able to perform tonight,” he wrote. “I have tried everything I can to revive my voice, but I cannot give you the show I’d like to be able to give you with the condition of my throat right now.”

The “Mystical Magical” singer continued, “This is genuinely the crappiest feeling, I am so sorry. I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you. I’ll update you guys as soon as I can. Thank you for everything you do. I love you guys so much.”

In a statement, the venue added it was “working through all possible options to reschedule,” per BBC.

“We understand how disappointing this is and sincerely apologize for the extremely short notice and inconvenience caused,” an arena representative said.

Boone is currently on the international leg of his tour supporting his second studio album American Heart. He has yet to confirm if he will perform his next three dates in London, which begin tomorrow. Afterward, he is set for shows in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and, finally, the United Arab Emirates.

Also coming up for the perennially backflipping singer is a one-night-only appearance Nov. 29 as part of Visa Live at the Rocket Garden at Kennedy Space Center visitor complex in Merritt Island, Fla., which will be livestreamed for fans on TikTok.
