No. 9 Georgia is out for revenge Saturday afternoon as it hosts No. 5 Ole Miss in an important clash between two of the SEC’s top programs. The Rebels stunned the Bulldogs at home last season, earning their first win against Georgia since 1995.
Ole Miss also hasn’t beat Georgia in back-to-back seasons in 30 years. The Rebels are one of just two remaining undefeated SEC teams which means, with a win today, they will take a commanding lead in the SEC Championship Game race. They’ll also solidify their status as a virtual College Football Playoff shoe-in, provided there are no late-season slipups.
Georgia, meanwhile, already has its back against the wall a bit. The Bulldogs lost, once again, to Alabama a couple of weeks ago. Georgia could brunt a second loss — especially to a team of Ole Miss’ caliber — but it would set it behind in the SEC and eliminate its margin for error for the rest of the year.
