It seems someone took the “Teenage Dream” lyric, “I’ma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans,” a little too seriously.
Over the weekend, the Daily Mail and People obtained and published photos of Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau making out on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.
HuffPost has reached out to both Perry and Trudeau for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
Regardless, a quick gander at the photos makes it clear that baby, there are fireworks between the two. So much so that in one photo, the politician can be seen grabbing the pop star’s butt.
And although the pairing is seemingly random — with one X user summing it up for everyone by saying a romance between the two “wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card” — there’s one aspect of the photos that makes the whole thing even weirder.
While the “Dark Horse” singer is sporting a black one-piece bathing suit, Trudeau opted to go shirtless with a pair of jeans… on a boat.
Many users on X were perplexed by his choice of nautical attire.
“Trudeau with a hand full of Katy Perry’s ass. For me, it’s the Jeans on a yacht tho… 😂” one user wrote.
“Wearing jeans on a yacht just might be the most Canadian shit ever,” another user joked.
Other users had mixed reactions to the potential pairing.
Rumors have been swirling about Perry and Trudeau since July, when the two were spotted going to a Montreal restaurant called Le Violon, according to TMZ. That same month, Trudeau was also spotted at one of Perry’s concerts in Montreal singing along as she performed.
“They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes,” a Canadian source told People in August.
Another source, however, indicated to People at the time that it wasn’t that serious.
“Although they have shared interests and plenty to talk about, dating just isn’t on her radar,” the insider told the outlet. “She’s stayed in touch with Justin, but there are no current plans for another meet-up.”
But it seems that things have certainly heated up since then.
In June, Perry announced her split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom. Trudeau separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire, with whom he shares three children, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
