Amal Clooney Pairs New Haircut With Showgirl Gown for Date Night With George

Well, it seems even the chicest human rights lawyers aren’t immune to Taylor Swift fever. On her latest outing, Amal Clooney ditched her signature understated timeless style and went full showgirl.

Amal and husband George Clooney stepped out for glamorous red carpet date night at the gala screening of George’s film Jay Kelly at the BFI London Film Festival on October 10. While George kept things classic with a simple black suit and tie, Amal went for something a little more glitzy. Her strapless pale pink Tamara Ralph couture gown featured a sequined bodice, a drop waist, and a tiered fringed skirt. She wore a dramatic pink feather stole around her shoulders and accessorized with sparkling silver drop earrings.

Amal showed off her fresh fall haircut, wearing her (still very long) locks in a side-parted bouncy blow out. Just a few days ago, Amal subtly debuted a dramatic chop while announcing a new initiative for the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which involves using AI and new technologies in order to help women and girls access routes to justice more easily.

The chop was a “power cut,” according to her hair stylist Dimitris Giannetos. “I cut off between six and eight inches of hair,” the stylist told Vogue. “Amal has never had a haircut like this before.”

Amal tends to stick to a palatte of neutrals, so this showgirl-coded look comes as quite a surprise. Earlier this month, she and George appeared at the 2025 Albies, where she opted for a chocolate brown draped gown. In September, she wore a muted olive green gown. In August, a one-shoulder white dress.

Then again, in recent months, Amal has been slowly introducing some glitz and glam into her wardrobe. There was a dramatic deep red minidress with a floral appliqué skirt, a hot pink dress with a thigh-high slit, a magenta high-low gown, and a minidress with feather trim. Clearly, showgirl chic really is in.
