I was genuinely surprised by the Auarte Carrying Case for Nintendo Switch 2, not just how clever it is – it charges and protects – but how affordable it feels with 20% off at Amazon. For $23.99, it’s the kind of small purchase that makes a big difference, and honestly, I didn’t expect something so smart to come at this price.

Just got a Switch 2 in the sales? Well, below are my three favourite games to play as soon as you unbox, and they’re all cheaper today.

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Pokémon Legends: Z-A bundle is one of those launch deals that actually makes sense. The console alone goes for $449, and Z-A retails at $69.99, but the bundle comes in at $499, effectively saving you around $20.

It’s not just about the discount, though; it’s a perfect pairing. You’re getting the newest Nintendo hardware and one of its biggest exclusives right out of the box, no waiting, no extra spend, just play. And I know I just moaned about a lack of big releases, but, well… here’s one, with the console, for a little less.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Nintendo Switch OLED; it just feels more refined than many other handhelds. The screen pops with colour, the kickstand actually works, and it’s built like proper hardware should be. Right now, it’s $374.88 with 6% off at Amazon, which makes it an easy recommendation.

The Switch 2 might be a newer and flashier console, but the OLED still nails that balance of portability and polish. Fundamentally, it also has a games library. If, like me, you look at Switch 2’s games list and want a little more, but side-eye the OLED’s library, then this is a good deal. Plus, you can trade it in later for a Switch 2 when there’s more to play.

I just spotted a tiny little deal at Walmart that made me smile: the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is $5 off its regular $89.99 price tag – now $84.95.. Yes, five whole bucks. Enough for a fancy coffee, a snack, or… well, almost nothing else, but hey, every little counts, right?

The controller itself is brilliant; it’s comfortable, precise, and perfect for marathon sessions. So if you were already eyeing one, this is your moment to snag it and feel slightly smug about ‘saving’ five dollars.

One of my favourite games to play on my Nintendo Switch 2 right now is Split Fiction. From the same makers as the mega hit It Takes Two title, this game is perfect for couples and friends, as you help each other navigate fictional worlds in a co-op adventure.

If you’re hoping to play it with a friend, only one of you needs to buy the game thanks to Nintendo’s game sharing feature. Right now, Split Fiction for the Switch 2 is on sale for only $46 / £28.45 at Amazon, down from the usual $49.99 / £44.99 retail price.

So… I own one of the best 3D printers, and I’m dying to print some cool accessories for my Switch 2 console. This one below is called a GamiFries, and was designed by user7R135 via MakerWorld. You can download it for free, and I’m so tempted to add this to my list of things to print.

When I woke up this morning I saw a big green price on the ‘shopping’ bar of Google’s overview on Switch deals and I thought ‘wow there’s a deal on Switch 2! This is unprecedented!’

But it turned out to be the RRP. So it shows, don’t believe everything you see during these sales events.

Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about the actual Nintendo Switch console, and I’m still keeping my eye out for deals on any bundle offers on the Switch 2, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite models (though to be honest it’s not looking too great right now).

Bringing it back to Pokémon for a second (it’s still Nintendo related before you get mad at me) – did you hear about the latest Pokémon X Natural History Museum collab?

It was announced that there will be an exclusive pop-up shop experience coming to the Cranbourne Boutique shop, with exclusive merchandise and products. I love that Pokémon is doing more collabs for fans to experience, although this event has already sold out for now (more tickets will be released in November), and I can’t help but feel that it could become another scalper-dominated event just like the Pokémon Van Gogh museum experience was for me.

I’m personally not a huge fan of this game, as it takes forever (and I’m really bad at it), but I know that other people love it. So if you’re a Mario/Monopoly fan, then don’t miss out on this Prime Day deal below for only $10.99, down from $21.99.

If you’re still rocking the OG Nintendo Switch console, then I’ve found a deal on the CRKD Nitro Deck (Limited Edition Retro Purple) with a carry case included for only £42.49 down from £51.99.

If you’re not familiar with the Nitro Deck from CRKD, it’s one of the best Joy-Con alternatives that you can buy for the Nintendo Switch, and it essentially acts like a dock for your Switch display that slots into the gamepad, making it compatible with the controls on either side. Often you’ll find a fairly decent bundle deal is the staple of these sales events. This means you’ll find a standout game like Mario Kart thrown in with a console, and often that combination will be cheaper than if the console was standalone. One of the best I’ve seen was the Nintendo Switch OLED with a game for $275 – and that was last Prime Day.

Prime Day’s the perfect time to invest in your Nintendo Switch setup. Want smoother gameplay? Snag a deal on a pro-style controller. Tired of thumb cramps? Look out for ergonomic grips that actually fit human hands. Screen protectors and hard-shell cases? Non-negotiable if you ever leave the house. And don’t sleep on charging accessories or microSD cards – because nothing kills the vibe like running out of juice or space mid-Mario Kart.

You might be wondering which Switch console to go for, especially given the new Switch 2 probably won’t get many decent discounts.

Well.. I have no hesitation recommending the Switch OLED, especially if you can get it for a good price (anything under $300 is a bargain and between $300 and $325 is worth considering. The Nintendo Switch OLED is still ideal for casual gamers who primarily play in handheld mode and value a vibrant, high-quality screen over cutting-edge performance and speeds (the internals aren’t as fast as its successor).

The Switch 2 is designed for more performance-focused users who want smoother gameplay, faster load times, and access to new-generation titles. With its upgraded hardware, 4K support when docked, and future-proof features, it’s best for those who play both docked and handheld, and who want to stay current with Nintendo’s latest and most demanding releases.

Is the Switch 2 really worth it? In our review we gave it 4.5 stars, with the only thing letting it down being poor battery life. We called it an “extraordinary piece of consumer electronics” and “absolutely state-of-the-art”. “Buy it,” said our reviewer.

Hello there deal hunters, how are we doing ahead of tomorrow’s big sale event? Are you expecting big deals or holding out for a few pounds or dollars off a game or two? Whatever you’re after, we’ve got you covered.

The latest big Switch 2 release is the double header of Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 recompiled for the new console. In the UK, you can grab a free bonus items with orders direct from the Nintendo Store.

There’s a choice of either a keyring of a holographic sticker set. Not the most generous of Nintendo considering the package costs £58.99, but the keyring is quite cute.

Amazon has no early Prime Day deals on the Switch 2, but it does have some savings on the Switch OLED in both the US and the UK. The newer Switch 2 is more powerful than the OLED, and most people are likely to want to hold out for the new device, but it doesn’t have an OLED display, and there’s a quite a difference in price (now even bigger with these discounts).

For those hunting for early Prime Day Switch deals in the UK, Amazon has a few more decent savings on games for the Switch 2, including on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (pictured). Here are my picks.

Here’s an example of how it pays to shop around for Switch 2 deals in the run up to Prime Day.

In the UK, Very’s selling the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Donkey Kong Bananza and 6 months’ insurance for £489, which represents a saving of £7 over buying the three items separately.

Considering that these are the two main release showcases, it’s a tempting little deal if you don’t yet have a Switch 2. But, hold fire because if you create the same bundle yourself at Amazon, you can actually save a little more (and without getting roped into an insurance deal that you might not actually want).

Amazon has Donkey Kong Bananza on its own (the physical game) reduced from £62.51 to £53.99 for a saving of £8.52 if you click to add the voucher. Add the console + Mario Kart World bundle and the total for the whole package at Amazon is £483.94 – over £5 cheaper than at Very.
