Both players suffered lower body injuries during the Aug. 7 game against the Phoenix Mercury.
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever say guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald will both miss the rest of the 2025 WNBA season due to injuries suffered in the Aug. 8 game with the Phoenix Mercury.
Combined with Caitlin Clark’s groin injury, the news leaves the Fever without a single healthy point guard. The team announced Clark would miss her tenth straight game Saturday when Indiana hosts Chicago at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Coach Stephanie White still has not provided a timetable for Clark’s return.
According to the Fever, Colson tore her left ACL in the first quarter. McDonald broke a bone in her right foot.
The Fever lost to the Mercury, 95-60. They are currently in fifth place in the WNBA with a 17-14 record, but have lost their last two games.
McDonald came to the Fever this season after a stint with the LA Sparks. She has averaged almost 10 points and five assists a game this season.
Colson came from the Las Vegas Aces this season. She has averaged two points and two assists a game.
The Fever have not yet announced any corresponding moves to fill the two roster spots.
