Today, Nintendo unveiled a new “My Mario” series of products targeted at young children. Merchandise will begin to be available on August 26, 2025 at Nintendo Tokyo / Osaka / Kyoto with select items coming elsewhere in 2026.
Nintendo says that this series is something that parents and children can enjoy together. Partner companies will be included in offering products, and more items will be added in the future.
As part of the new initiative, Nintendo is planning a new app for Nintendo Switch (as well as iOS). Here users “can play intuitively by pulling Mario’s face, or turning it around and around on the screen.” Also, “Mario will react in various ways based on the player’s input, allowing parents and young children to play together and enjoy each reaction they see.” The app will be launching on August 26, 2025 for free.
Another thing in store is a series of stop motion short videos, coming in at about a minute long each. These clips show a variety of expressions and movements. All of the videos will be available on the My Mario official website and other channels in the future.
Two physical products have been showcased for My Mario thus far. These include a Wood Block Set featuring Mario and Luigi plus well-known items from the Super Mario series and a Hello Mario board book. Additional apparel, general goods, and plush toys are planned.
