The developers for the new Virtua Fighter Project offered up a first look at the gameplay in the title, on the training stage, during Evo 2025.
There’s a little over 1 minute to this latest video, but the developers said that more details will be coming at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, which is scheduled for September 25th through the 28th this year.
“Things are still under development, but I really wanted to show you this here at Evo 2025. We’ve been working so hard to make this happen,” said Riichiro Yamada, the producer of the new Virtua Fighter Project, through a translator.
“What we treasure most is innovation and reality, and we’ve been working so hard to further pursue this, and we will be sharing more details, so please check it out later on,” he said.
The video shows that the fighter’s attacks slow down and zoom in when they whiff. Also, sometimes when they’re hit a red glowing damage spot will appear on their body, and if this spot is hit again, it staggers them for a short period of time, likely opening the door for some extended combos.
